Ellie’s is a unique Cincinnati bakery on a mission to transform the humble cookie into an indulgent, restaurant-quality dessert. When it comes to grab-and-go treats, consumers have plenty of options. Ellie’s faced fierce competition from grocers, local bakeries, and national cookie chains, all with multiple locations. Why would someone order from Ellie’s when they can grab a cookie from down the street? Because Ellie’s is not your run-of-the-mill cookie.
THE APPROACH
Highlight all the details that make Ellie’s cookies a luxury dessert: the exceptional ingredients, the meticulous two-day process, the decadent flavors, and the indulgent finishes. Each Ellie’s cookie is a chef-crafted confection made for anyone who wants to treat themselves, their friends, or their family. The photographic style played a key role in the overall look. The photos are gooey, messy, and real, while most competitors showcase their cookies as clipped-out pucks on candy-colored backgrounds. The logo was inspired by the soft shapes of mixing dough, and was crafted with the same attention to detail that Ellie’s puts into each one of their cookies. The color palette blends a bold use of black-and-white with dessert-colored accents to create a look that is elevated but approachable.
