Shelby Crossing
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Founded in 1928, Shelby Crossing is one of the oldest golf courses in Northern Ohio. While the logo has undergone a few different looks in its nearly 100-year history, it has always utilized a tree and its founding year as part of the brand.
THE APPROACH
Modernize the brand while respecting the history. The brand needed to work in very large formats, like signage, down to tiny outputs, such as ball markers. We embraced the tree and ‘1928’ as hallmarks of the brand, but gave them flexibility by taking them out of the royal crest. We created a series of logos and word marks optimized at different sizes, allowing the course to choose the perfect graphic for every application.
