Daughter's Pizza Kitchen
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Daughter’s Pizza Kitchen is a Milford, Ohio pizza restaurant combining traditional and eclectic ingredients to create unique Sicilian-style pizzas. Chefs Josh and Nicole House reached out to us with an idea for a hometown pizza place, one focused on community and family. From that initial idea, we worked with them to craft a name, strategy, and style to bring Daughter’s into the world.
THE APPROACH
It began with the name. We worked with Josh and Nicole to generate dozens of name ideas focused on family, community, quality, and taste. Ultimately we landed on Daughter’s Pizza Kitchen. The “Daughter’s” represents community and family, and pays homage to the House’s trio of daughters, while the “Pizza Kitchen” highlights that they are trained chefs focused on ingredients and flavor. Once the name was set we began to craft the look. Our goal was to build a brand that felt like a fresh take on the classics, by mixing modern and traditional colors and typography. The Daughter’s logo takes inspiration from the curved shape of a pizza peel, the long-handled tool used to slide pizzas in and out of the oven. The typography mixes a rustic serif with a soft sans-serif, creating a feeling of old and new. The logo system provides a range of options for signs, shirts, menus, and boxes, keeping the brand consistent, but never boring.
“Naming a business is challenging and being able to bounce ideas off you, view other brands in the market, and get honest feedback was very helpful. We would absolutely recommend Ink & Craft.”
