Twin Power

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Twin Power is a heating and cooling company on a mission to provide clean, healthy air to every homeowner. Founder Stan Prather worked for decades in the HVAC industry, and when he started Twin Power, he wanted to build a company different from his competitors. We asked Stan how he got into this business, and he hit us with this amazing story. As a child, Stan suffered from terrible asthma and allergies. He started each day coughing and sneezing for thirty minutes straight. He was taking daily medicine but still struggled to breathe. Eventually his lungs collapsed. His father took Stan to the doctor, who suggested running the air conditioner to relieve Stan’s symptoms. The cooler, cleaner air relaxed Stan’s lungs, and his breathing improved. His daily medicine became weekly, then monthly. Now as an adult, he only occasionally takes medicine.

THE APPROACH

How can we translate Stan’s story into a compelling brand? By focusing on complete air care, not just heating and cooling. Our strategy centered around health, for you, your home, and your loved ones. Homeowners can feel hot and cold, but few realize that poor filtration can spread sickness throughout their homes, and poor humidity can tear their houses apart. We developed the tagline “We care about quality air” because no one knows the importance of healthy air better than Stan. For the brand, it was important to create a logo that was instantly recognizable as an HVAC company. We crafted a mark that combines opposing warm and cool arrows to form a transparent shape in the middle. The two arrows play off the “twin” motif, and the transparent middle underscores the brand’s commitment to providing clean air to its customers. But the logo hides another meaning. The pentagonal shapes of the arrows form a home covered by a shield, symbolizing how Twin Power protects your home and your health with clean, quality air.
